We’re thrilled to share that Meng Fanhao and Zhu Peidong, founding partners of line+ studio, have been shortlisted for Designer of the Year at the Wallpaper* China Design Awards 2025.

With the theme “SAY NO TO STANDARDS,” this year’s awards celebrate creativity, innovation, and decentralization—recognizing Chinese designers shaping contemporary design culture. Fellow nominees include Wei Chunyu and Tang Hua.
As an innovative firm with a global perspective, line+ continues to redefine architectural productivity and spatial innovation. Our philosophy of “Spatial Empowerment” views architecture not just as a functional container but as an active medium that bridges commerce and culture, empowers industries, and fosters communities.
Recent works include:
🏛️ Lishui Guyan Art Center and Hangzhou Qiantang River Museum, reimagining how architecture engages with daily life.
🏭 Hangzhou LOFT49 Urban Renewal, applying an “Urban Jinshan” approach to preserve industrial heritage while activating new urban ecologies.
🏡 Songyang Stray Birds Art Hotel, reviving abandoned rammed-earth dwellings through handcrafted restoration and prefabrication, creating a model of cultural coexistence.

Meanwhile, we continue exploring the intersection of craft and technology through:
🌿 Woven Passage to Cloudy Peaks, translating bamboo-weaving heritage into contemporary architectural language.
☁️ Sky Ring, exploring the symbiosis between cutting-edge technology and rural context through installation and experimentation.
🤖 iFLYTEK AI Headquarters Campus, integrating intelligent technologies with spatial experience.
This nomination recognizes line+’s ongoing exploration across culture, craft, and technology—affirming our belief in design as a force for social and spatial evolution.
