Northeast China’s First Fourth-Generation Residence Phase I Delivery of Crest Residence by line+

Located at the eastern edge of Donggang, Dalian, along the Yellow Sea, Crest Residence marks the point where the city meets the first light of dawn. Designed by Peidong Zhu, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of line+, the project responds to its context through a clear City–Mountain–Sea spatial sequence, envisioning a contemporary residential model rooted in natural coexistence. It is also the first Fourth-Generation Residence in Northeast China.

“This is an attempt to place everyday life within mountains and sea—allowing living spaces to rise with the terrain and unfold toward the ocean.”

— Peidong Zhu

 01
Reframing the Site | Following the Order of Mountains and Sea

The design carefully orchestrates the urban road to the north, mountain terrain to the south, and open sea to the east, establishing a layered living hierarchy. High-rise residences enjoy expansive three-sided sea views; mid-rise buildings open toward the mountains; while lower residences and villas return to gardens and courtyards.

Buildings step upward along the mountain edge, with a landmark tower at the northeast corner shaping a visual climax along the coastline and concentrating premium sea views in the upper levels.

02
Arrival Sequence | A Three-Dimensional Garden Journey

The site is elevated to form a residential ground plane “above the park.” A landscape-led, island-like arrival sequence unfolds from the whale-tail–inspired Cascade of Light, through a double-height lobby and contemplative rotunda, toward water features, ascending paths, and a sea-view clubhouse—transforming everyday return into a resort-like spatial journey.

03
Spatial Innovation | The First Luxury Fourth-Generation Residence in the Northeast

As Northeast China’s first Fourth-Generation Residence, Crest Residence introduces flexible, boundary-free living spaces that blur interior and landscape. Upper-level homes feature open-plan halls with panoramic sea views, while lower-level units adopt U-shaped terraces embracing nature. Double-height sea-view terraces further expand living possibilities, merging daily life with scenery.

 04
Façade Narrative | Deconstructing Coastal Imagery

The architectural language draws inspiration from lighthouses at sea and floating yachts, translating coastal elements into a sculptural, multi-layered façade. Continuous curtain-wall glazing enables 270-degree ocean views. Materials include sunrise-toned metal elements, matte stone echoing coastal reefs, expansive glass reflecting the horizon, and warm off-white stone reminiscent of sandy beaches—together creating a relaxed yet refined seaside living atmosphere.

CR Land Dalian Donggang Ruifu is not only a new interpretation of luxury living between mountains and sea, but also establishes a new spatial paradigm for coastal urban living—integrating natural resources, urban interfaces, and everyday life.
